Rebecca Meyer Carr has a background in nonprofit management and volunteer organizing. Most recently, she worked in Radnor, PA at Help Hope Live, a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping fundraise for medical expenses for those needing transplants or living with a catastrophic injury or illness. Her favorite part of the work was connecting with communities who were looking to help support the patient in a tangible and meaningful way. She sees her work at Team IMPACT as a natural continuation of this, as communities of student-athletes support the child placed with them.
Carr grew up in Ohio, moved to California for a while, then back across the country for a stint in Pennsylvania, and is now happy to be living in Massachusetts. College at Brandeis University and graduate school in Social Work at University of Southern California gave her a taste of both a smaller institution and a large sports-obsessed one. Today, Rebecca is the mom of her own two college students and the happy human companion of Rafi, the Three-Legged Wonder dog.
When asked the question, "Why Team IMPACT?" Rebecca said:
My career goal has always been to leave work at the end of the day and ask myself if I’d helped someone. At Team IMPACT, I can answer that with a “yes” every day! I love working with families, coaches, and student-athletes to shepherd their relationship through the two years. Watching kids find support and lasting friendships with college-athletes is truly fulfilling for me. And I’m thrilled to be a part of our “team” here at Team IMPACT!
